Is there anything better than some homemade Strawberry Jam on a warm roll? Maybe, but we're big fans! Try this simple recipe for Strawberry Freezer Jam and you'll always have this sweet treat.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups diced strawberries
- 4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 box of fruit pectin
- Freezer-safe containers
Directions:
- Prepare containers so they are ready for the jam to be divided.
- Using a food processor, pulse the strawberries until they are broken down.
- Measure out 2 cups of broken-down strawberries into a large mixing bowl.
- One cup at a time, thoroughly mix in the granulated sugar. Let mixture sit for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add water and fruit pectin to a small pan and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
- After the water and pectin has boiled for 1 minute, remove from heat and immediately pour into the strawberry mixture.
- Mix all ingredients really well, until sugar is well dissolved.
- Fill your prepared containers, leaving at least 1/2" inch space at the top to allow for expanding when frozen.
- Cover with lids and allow to stand at room temperature for 24 hours. It is important to ensure the jam is left at room temperature for 24 hours to allow the jam to set.
- After the 24 hour mark, place either in the fridge (good for 4 weeks) or the freezer (good for one year)
